September

New: Quick reactions

Give any file in a folder block a heart or a thumbs up, so a quick yes takes one click instead of an email thread.

A show of hands

Every “looks great” used to end up in Slack, email and everywhere in between. Now it can sit right next to the work. React to any item in a folder block, and sort the block to see what’s getting the most love.

Switch on Comments and reactions in block actions to try it. You can also leave a comment on any item, reply in a thread, and resolve it once it’s sorted.

Other Improvements

A list of other fixes and improvements we shipped this month:

New

Enlarge any tile in a grid folder block to span two, three or more columns. Hold Alt to shrink it back, and switch on Fill gaps to tuck smaller tiles into the spaces

Editing & performance

Switching between pages in the editor is now much quicker, no more waiting on a spinner
Videos in the item viewer now open at full size straight away
Saved styles can now make indented list markers the default

Fixed

Password-protected pages are working again, and let you know if a password doesn’t match
Pages you’ve already opened in the editor now load properly when you head back to them
Pages created from a page list block with a doc template now land right where you’d expect, with the name you chose
Search blocks now work with any icon size

A record of every edit, view and download across your portal, so you can pick up where you left off after time away.

Where were we?

Nobody comes back from two weeks off remembering what they do for a living. So we’ve been building something to help you pick up where you left off.

Your People page now keeps a record of everything that’s happened across your portal. Glance down the latest edits, or filter by views, downloads and access when you’re after something specific. So catching up on two weeks away takes a minute or two, rather than an afternoon of detective work.

Other Improvements

A list of other fixes and improvements we shipped this month:

Metadata & fields

Drop page or site metadata straight into your copy as an inline variable, and choose how a multi-valued field reads
A new Long text field, for descriptions and notes that need more than one line
Field sets can be gated on another field’s value, so a campaign page and an event page can carry different forms
Pick which content types a field set applies to as you create it, rather than assigning them afterwards
Links are a first-class content type now, so third-party links can carry your own fields
Metadata thumbnails can be replaced or removed, and a failed upload says so instead of quietly dropping
The edit page, edit site and create site dialogs share one tidier form layout
The metadata and fields panels now use our own icon set, drawn to sit with the rest of Niice

Blocks & lists

A new Board List block, for surfacing the Niice boards a viewer can reach
Cap how many items a folder block shows, with an optional Load more button
Drag folder block items into the order you want, files and links alike
Doc list and page list blocks can show a set number of items, with pagination you can turn off
Hand-pick the pages or sites a list block shows, for a set that no filter would ever describe
Create a page straight from a page list block, with a template picker and every detail set up front
Tables now appear in both the insert menu and the slash menu
New Table and Cell panels: table width, cell padding, borders and backgrounds, across a whole selection of cells
Lists get a panel of their own, with marker position and marker styles
Download original is now in the media block toolbar
The page list block’s Options panel is grouped and nested, instead of 23 controls in a row

Editing & layout

Dragging a block now shows a shaded drop zone the size of the block itself, and the blocks around it slide out of the way
Better drop targets when you drag into a nested container, or out into the page margin to build a row
Adding a section nests each column, so the pair stacks neatly on tablet and below

People & access

Pending invites get a profile on the People page, with the actions to match
Groups have an Access tab, listing every site and page the group opens up
Grant, change or revoke a group’s access from that tab, at site or page level, with nothing saved until you say so

Links & connections

Override a link’s title, description and thumbnail, and keep your version when the embed refreshes
Phase one of the Niice plugin for Figma: connect, check and disconnect your account from inside Figma
Connect Claude now names the account you’re connecting, and belongs to that account alone
Agents can set page, site and link thumbnails, and fix up a folder block link, over MCP

Performance

The item viewer shows a cached preview straight away while the full-resolution image loads behind it
Files you’ve just uploaded appear in a folder block immediately, without waiting on the search index
Published pages are a good deal lighter, they no longer carry a map of every page in the account

Fixed

The block toolbar no longer turns up on load, or lingers when you click away to deselect
Selecting a block in a nested container is reliable, and clicking a container’s padding no longer drops you into text editing
Drop placeholders are no longer enormous when you drag a tall block or join a row
Breadcrumbs truncate cleanly on narrow screens instead of wrapping mid-phrase
Tab block nav rows scroll rather than squashing their labels
An applied filter badge keeps its name and thumbnail instead of collapsing to just its ✕
Page list blocks scoped to the current doc no longer list the page they’re on
Using the browser back button with the properties panel open no longer crashes the page
Navigation links on the People page are clickable again, the globe canvas was sitting over them
Invite emails with stray spaces or different capitalisation are handled properly, so no more phantom duplicates
Tightened an ownership check on field sets, so a set can only ever be read or changed by the account that owns it

You can now filter with relative dates like “today”, no more updating filters by hand

Everyone’s access, in one view

Your People page now shows what everyone can access, so you can adjust it for a person, a group, or a whole team right when you need to.

Know the score

Building a brand is a team sport, but the more hands in the mix, the easier it is for something to slip: a partner still pulling from an outdated folder, a freelancer who wrapped up months ago but never lost access, a franchise that can’t reach the creative they need, and the deadline’s on Friday. All easy to overlook, until it’s too late.

Your People page used to just tell you who was around. Now you can see what everyone can reach for and make changes right there and then, whether it’s for one person, a group, or an entire team.

Everyone where they should be, and one less thing on your mind.

Other Improvements

People page

Metric tabs added to the top of the People page: total, active, inactive, and online, with a Last active column
People lists sort by last activity by default, including on group pages
Admins can remove someone from an account directly from the People page

Editing & Pages

A floating Publish button is now available for editors on draft pages
Entity list tables are sortable by any column
Section-level tables now support resizable columns
All table tools appear whenever a table or its contents are selected
Tabs have a clearer empty state and improved styling while editing
Site and page list titles can be centre aligned in both list and grid views
The default theme carries through to control panel views, so buttons and colours reflect your brand settings

Fixes

Collaborative editing no longer fails with an occasional “Unauthorized” error, sessions recover on their own if credentials expire mid-edit
Asset sites on custom domains no longer hang before loading, web fonts load without blocking the page
Fixed a crash when opening a PDF in some older browsers
Account admins can once again add users or groups in the document access dialog
Fixed navigation errors when moving between pages through the site contents list
Uploads now work on unlocked blocks inside a locked section
Notification preferences no longer show email as on after it’s been turned off
Search now handles spelling variants like “center” and “centre”
Page list blocks scoped to the current page now show only direct children, not all descendants
Fixed top-level tables rendering into the page margin

A clear view of everything you’ve shared

We’ve been making it simpler to stay on top of every share link you’ve ever sent, even the ones you might have forgotten about.

Keep tabs on your links

A share link is like a key under the mat. Anyone you trust can let themselves in, but hand out enough keys and it gets hard to remember who has one, which ones still work, and which should have been taken back a long time ago.

So we’ve started building the tools to help you keep track of them all. You can now filter and sort to find what you need, see how many times each link has been viewed and downloaded, and tell at a glance which ones have been busy and which have gone quiet. You get a proper sense of what’s going on across all your links, without having to go digging for it.

What’s new

Filter your links by status: active, new, never used, inactive, expiring soon, or expired
Sort by age, views, downloads, or last activity to find the one you’re after
View counts now sit next to downloads, each with its own usage chart
Charts cover a link’s whole history now, not just the last 30 days
Every link gets a thumbnail, the four latest items for folder links, the page or site image for page links
Two new columns, Age and Last Activity, so you can see what’s been sitting around
Title, thumbnail, description, and location now line up in one tidy column

Fixed an issue where nested layouts no longer escape their parent container
Fixed the fill option for sections
Drag-drop and paste file uploads work for unlocked blocks inside locked sections
Locked blocks are now properly respected across multi-step editor operations
Videos now play at full quality, the resolution cap has been lifted

Typography

Import fonts directly from Adobe Fonts into your projects
The font picker now only shows the weights and styles your chosen font actually has

Theming

Page background colour can be set on a theme, and text colour now automatically adjusts for contrast
Doc buttons default to your button colour and radius presets with auto text contrast baked in

Blocks

A site selector is now available in the Nav block scope panel so navigation can target a specific site
The table of contents block can now pull headings from different content sources, not just the current slot
Link metadata in folder blocks and the docs viewer is richer and more informative
Folder block links can now be edited and refreshed in place

Page Management

Creating a new page from the page list no longer blanks the current page’s content
Clearer error message when a page slug rename conflicts with an existing page
Version history has a refreshed panel with a much better UX

Sharing & Analytics

Analytics now shows site thumbnails in the top sites table
Share links are now correctly checked when verifying doc access permissions

Help & Support

Chat support is now accessible directly from the document toolbar menu

The missing links

We’ve been working on making it simpler for you to share toolkits, even when assets live across a dozen platforms.

Assets aren’t just files anymore. For a campaign launch your social templates are in Figma, the hero visuals are in Photoshop, the playbook’s on Google Slides, and the launch video’s buried somewhere in a Framer project. With different teams using different tools and platforms, it’s hard to see the full picture.

Folder block embeds pull everything into one view so your assets can stay where they’re being made, while your team finds them in one place. Upload from your desktop, import from Dropbox or Google Drive, or embed a link from anywhere — Niice is where it all comes together.
