With a button, you can link to an external or internal page or attach a file like an image or PDF for download. Customize it any way you like to fit your brand by setting the color and font, and rounding the corners to your heart’s content!
Open the slash menu ‘/’ and select “button”. By default, the button is black and hasn’t got any attachments or links.
While in edit mode, click on the button and two options will pop up: “Add link” or “Add download”. From here, you can:
💡 If you click on a button in edit mode, it will bring up the button actions. If you click the button in preview mode, it will perform the action attached to it.
Internal links are links to other pages within your Site.
External links can be to any web link: your homepage, design system, Dropbox, etc.
Drag a file from your desktop into the grayed out area to upload it. You can attach anything to a button, like:
💡 Attach multiple files by creating a ZIP file on your desktop and attaching it to the button.
In edit mode, click the 6-dot icon beside the button and click on “Edit properties” to open the properties panel. Here, you will find a ton of options to help you customize your button. The most commonly used options are color, size and shape.
Scroll down to “Color” and you’ll see options to change the color of the button text, and the button itself. Paste in a color hex code or select your brand color at the top of the palette (if you have one set).
Underneath “Sizing & Spacing” you’ll find options to change the size and shape of your button.
“Padding” is the space between your button text and the border. You can enter any value to change the shape to see how it feels. If you’d like your button to be square, try inputting “100px”
This is how far you want the button to span across the page.
This is how tall you’d like the button to be on the page.
Under the Border section you’ll find “Corner radius”. Try a value of 5px for slightly rounded or 20px for fully rounded.
If you go to the 6-dot icon beside the button and hit “duplicate”, an exact copy of your button will pop in below the original with the same attachments or links.
